This $950K park project was designed to provide more green space to the neighborhood and reduce air pollution, as the park abuts Route I-93. The engineering scope included drainage, utilities and stormwater management design. DCI coordinated all utility and drainage design with a proposed landscape layout and grading ensuring a compatible design from subsurface utilities up to the above grade park features.
Erik Swanson, P.E., is the new Somerville Engineering Department Manager at DCI. Erik joined DCI in July 2017, and is based in the Somerville office. He says he chose DCI over other opportunities largely because our projects are “multi-dimensional and complex, a lot of times in an urban setting, with many different challenges and aspects rolled into a single project.”
DCI’s Mike Clark and Jerry Guerra attended the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions’ annual Environmental Conference.
DCI is assisting the Town of Harwich with the completion of a new ground-based water tank that will replace the 172-foot elevated storage tank that has projected above the tree line for more than 30 years.
In December 2016, DCI’s staff turned out in force for bowling, pizza and draft beer at American Flatbreads in Davis Square, Somerville. This year, the crew will head to classic Italian restaurant Bocelli’s, one of the most highly rated local restaurants in Boston.
